85. TWO ROOMS: CELEBRATING THE SONGS OF ELTON JOHN AND BERNIE TAUPIN

This 1991 covers album is not available on streaming services, so if you click on the sleeve, it will take you to a YouTube playlist of the songs. Though there have been more recent albums reimagining John/Taupin compositions (search for Revamp and Restoration), Two Rooms is near and dear to my heart because it was released while I was in college and I really like the all star cast performing the covers. While not all of the tracks work for me (and some are downright unlistenable), there are a few gems here worth checking out: ‘Rocket Man,’ ‘Come Down in Time,’ ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘Burn Down the Mission’ by Kate Bush, Sting, Sinead O’Connor and Phil Collins, respectively, just to name a few.
