262. SONGS ABOUT JANE by Maroon 5

I don't listen to Los Angeles-origin band Maroon 5 anymore. Well, I don't really listen to anything of theirs beyond this record, their 2002 debut. They started heading in a different direction after this album that didn't really inspire me to continue to follow them. But Songs About Jane is definitely worth your time to check out especially if you're unfamiliar with how they started as compared to where they are these days.

The tracks I recommend below blend the perfect mixture of lead singer Adam Levine's soulful vocals with a little bit of funk and a little bit of pop to leave you wanting more. The opening notes of 'Sunday Morning' evoke, well, a Sunday morning. And what's better than Sunday morning? So I would start there. The next stand out song that you may not be as familiar with as some of the others is 'Must Get Out.' After that, the singles that you either already know well or will know well after reading this are 'She Will Be Loved,' 'This Love' and 'Harder To Breathe.'
