59. REMIND ME TOMORROW by Sharon Van Etten
Considered more guitar driven indie or alternative, Sharon Van Etten changed things up for this 2019 record, with heavy synths and deep bass lines. Prior to making this, her fifth album, she composed film and TV scores, acted, went back to school and had a child. In some ways, I think the photo on the record sleeve conveys the busy nature of her life leading up to “Remind Me Tomorrow.” This record made numerous “top albums of 2019” lists and the centerpiece track, ‘Seventeen,’ likewise was mentioned as one of the best songs of 2019 by many outlets. My favorites on this album include ‘Seventeen’ and the following two songs: ‘Malibu’ and ‘You Shadow.’
