8. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE (self-titled)

The argument could be made that this record is more relevant today than when it was released in 1992, what with all the unrest the United States is experiencing. With Zack de la Rocha's rat-a-tat vocals and Tom Morello's mind-bending guitar, it's difficult to stop this album midway through, let alone stopping in the middle of any song. The tension that is built up in 'Killing in the Name' starting at around the 1:30 mark and climaxing right at 2 minutes is enough to set your heart racing. Forget trying to find the perfect playlist for your next workout - just put this on and you're set for 53 minutes. Don't even think about stopping in the middle!
