55. DRESSY BESSY (self-titled)
The history of this band and its various members is too long and complicated to get into here. I mention this, however, because due to the lineup changes and resulting changes in the sound of their music, I’m really more a fan of this record rather than a fan of the band. With that out of the way, this 2003 record is 39 minutes of guitar-driven indie rock/pop. The songs are short, the hooks are catchy and will make you want to pick up a guitar and try to figure out the tabs. In short, a quick listen will leave a smile on your face. My big three are: ‘The Things That You Say That You Do,’ ‘Girl, You Shout!’ and ‘Hey May.’
